Xmas 2016

Happy Christmas

Hi All

I hope you have had a fantastic Christmas.   I want to thank everyone who sent me some fab Christmas cards (handmade of course), I loved seeing your work.  I have put some crafty inspiration on the blog for you today, just a few cards and a tag made for you to have a look at, I hope you like them.  The tag is from the Snowmen set in the Francoise Collection by Woodware from last year but I just love it.
Jolly Snowman Christmas Tag
So true! - I hope you all had your helping of sprouts this year!
I have decided I am making my tags next year - I bought them this year and they were rubbish - so I am starting early.

Jolly Snowman Christmas Card
I made a version of this card for our Christmas cards this year - just love him!  All from the Snowman Post collection and associated postal elements from this year's Woodware collection.

Green Elf Christmas Card
We made this one in class at The Paper Warehouse - takes a while to cut out and colour but he's worth it.

Christmas Tree Christmas Card
This must be the quickest Christmas card to make ever! White card blank, strip of co-ordinating card from my Papermill Direct stash,  available at The Paper Warehouse. The tree stamps and sentiments from the same set from Woodware as below, Kaledacolour ink in Caribbean Sea and a pearl string from Woodware, honestly 5 mins and its finished, where as the one below - using the same ingredients plus a bit of ribbon and embellishment takes soooo much longer - nice though, I hope you agree.

Christmas Tree Christmas Card
This tree set of stamps is so versatile you get everything in the set, both sentiments, all manner of trees and they are so versatile.

Snowman Christmas Card
I really love this snowman family card, the original stamp has the six snowmen on the front of the card, then I stamped them again and cut out the three who can be free standing and placed them in the background steps of the stepper card.  with the brayered and embossed background.  The heavy acetate cover has been sprinkled with Stampendous Chunky White embossing powder and heated from below. The sentiments this time are from Jane Gill's collection for Woodware - I just love the combination - this card takes a while (the arms are a bit fiddly to cut out, but they stick back on well if they fall off) but is good fun to do and its worth it for special people.
All ingredients from The Paper Warehouse

I hope you have all had a peaceful and happy Christmas, and are having some time to craft too.

Keep watching - see you soon

Woodware Mixed Media Birthday Book

Woodware Mixed Media Birthday Message Book

Hi All

This year Francoise Read created some lovely messages for Woodware, so I thought I would put them all together in a little book - just because it keeps them all together. There was no acetate in this book just fixed pages, which were a little more difficult to work with as some of the papers creased when I closed the book, (my fault, because I didn't leave it to dry long enough between pages.) I made each double spread different styles depending on the papers (from little tag books) and punched out the flowers on the front from card I had been experimenting with blending distress inks.  I also used the bubble stencil again with distress inks - ok obsession over - moving on.

More Woodware Christmas Mixed Media Book

Woodware Mixed Media Christmas Book

Hi All

Lots of you liked my mixed media book all about Alice in Wonderland - so I thought I would make another for Christmas - the book was supplied by Woodware and using Francoise Read's lovely Christmas Stamp designs, the papers are from Craftwork Cards.  The front page is a clear acetate so Stazon was needed, and positioned so the elf was peeping through.

Christmas the black postage stamp elements are on the acetate layer between the pages, and those trees on the facing page are sooooooo versatile - I'll show you in another installment

I  really enjoyed having a go with this, the neutral papers and the denim blue made the colours in the images pop, and having the acetate layers enabled me to add the postage elements on top of the coloured images to make Santa speak and add some fun elements to the Gingerbread Men.

I put this little book together all about Francoise's quilting stamps.

Quilting MDF book using Woodware products
Quilting fat book using a little sample book, I mainly used paints for the backgrounds this time - I also found out that some glues react with paints and unfortunately the paint does not set - oops had to do it again - I also found out that Stazon Cleaner works on sturdy acetate covers - when it  doesn't go quite to plan.

I really enjoyed this stamp set - all cross stitch elements, the flowers, the hoop, the heart and the words together with buttons made a lovely set which was very versatile and has been used throughout this book.

Woodware Christmas Samples

Hi All

The Christmas Card season is here again.  These are the new 2016 Christmas stamp samples that I created using Francoise Read's designs and Woodware Stamps, I have used Papermill Direct card with them and they looked great on the mantlepiece test (all my cards have to have a mantlepiece test) to make sure they stand up and look fabulous - I hope you like them.  None of these samples are overly complicated and can be made in batches - I hope you find inspiration here for your own Christmas Cards.

There will be other versions of the same stamps coming soon ........ and a few others too.

Also using Stampendous tinsel embossing powder, copic pens, and a bit of shrink plastic.
