Holidays - Fun to Do
Hi AllJust before Christmas we went to the lights in Alnwick Gardens, and watched the parade through the town, it was a great day, what a way to get people in the gardens in winter, the whole story brought the gardens to life and the voice in the gate was brilliant, then the lantern parade through the town, all the children with the lanterns they had made and the bands were fantastic they got everyone clapping to the rhythms. Then on the second day we went to the Angel of the North, in the rain.
In this week of Christmas Holidays we have been hit by more horrible wet weather, we thought the water was coming our way this time, but thankfully it was not too bad this time here in Kendal, our town is still trying to recover from the floods just before Christmas. The memorable day, my class was cancelled due to flooding, and many friends and colleagues were very badly flooded and have had to move out of their homes.
We have been out and about this week, over to Skipton, and yesterday went to the Yorkshire Sculpture park to see the Poppies, we had already seen the whole lot together in London last year, they were really spectacular, and just a sea of red from the top of the Shard, but now they are on tour and we thought it only right to see them again, and they looked beautiful falling from the bridge. On our way we went through the recently flooded villages and saw the poor home owners gutting their houses and felt very sad for them.
I am not able to make any cards this week due to the Christmas Tree taking over the space in the living room where I normally have my craft table, but I thought I should have a play with my jelly plate, I really want to - I might just have to take over the dining room table for a little while!!!! I also have another card to make for my class in January and several friends and family with birthdays in January - including me! (although I have stopped counting).
Thats all for now folks.
